While the theoretical existence of a "perfect solid" was first proposed by Dr. Karin Sjöberg following the 2012 seismic anomalies, the physical recovery of SFA-A02 remains one of the most violent retrieval operations in SFA history.

In late 2016, a cascading anomaly field manifested in a remote valley in the Northern Sector. A five-man "Lancer" squad, led by the operative codenamed "Fox," was dispatched to investigate the epicenter. The field was in a state of high flux, characterized by localized gravity shears and spontaneous thermal venting.
