Welcome to The Zone, Lancer. This section provides a crucial overview of the various factions operating within, around, and sometimes against its treacherous anomalies. Understanding their goals, history, and methods is key to your survival and success. Choose wisely, for alliances are as fleeting as the anomalies themselves.
Down below follows a quick introduction two our two main groups of factions, LARP and MILSIM. Picking MILSIM does not mean you can't engage in LARP, or the other way around. But it does tell what playstyle the faction has, what game mechanics it operates under and what type of experience it offers.
After picking either MILSIM or LARP, continue to their respective page for a short "punchline guide" to each faction as well as a handy link to reach their faction page in no-time!
This is for players who want to build a reputation beyond the battlefield. You'll focus on discovering the Zone's lore, solving mysteries, and forging alliances. Success comes from your character's choices, trade skills, and ability to navigate a world of player-driven justice, faction politics, and dangerous bandits. You can even choose to play as one of the bandits or join the ranks of the mutants as the denizens of the borderlands themselves. You'll have greater freedom to design your character's look with fewer uniform restrictions, though there are certain limitations on what weapons can be carried and how much ammunition you can use. If you enjoy exploration, finding hidden stashes, solving riddles, and engaging in a bounty hunting system to make a name for yourself, this is your path. Your actions can lead to your name being etched on the Wall of Discoveries, leaving a lasting legacy in the Zone.

This is for players who thrive on tactical challenges. You'll be part of a team, fighting in a dynamic, asymmetric battlefield where strategy and communication are everything. Success is about outmaneuvering opponents, completing military-style objectives, and managing your faction's reputation in a constant state of small-scale warfare. Unlike LARP, you'll have access to all weapon types and more ammunition, but this comes with a trade-off. It is mandatory for each faction to wear a specific uniform or set of gear when present at the event. If you want to engage in asymmetric warfare with a NATO-style mission briefing, use anti-vehicle systems, and compete for domination points, this is the experience for you. Every engagement is a chance to build your PMC reputation and gain a tactical advantage in a morally gray world.
