EVERYONE: A fragile peace in the base
This mechanic covers Peaceful Interaction and Consequences. Shooting inside The Base is a major offense that can put a bounty on your head or get you hunted by BAS-SÄK. Additionally, The BAR is a designated gun-free zone, a core part of the fragile peace maintained within The Base.

This mechanic covers Entry, Exit, and Taxation. Players can enter or leave The Base through the OPC-controlled Gate, but they must pay a tax on all items found. Alternatively, they can risk entering or leaving via the duty-free but extremely dangerous no-man's-land.

EVERYONE: The quest and mission hub
This mechanic covers Freelancer Progression and Mission Acceptance. Players can interact with boards at the BAR for various functions. The Mission Board provides jobs, the Map of the Borderlands offers exploration, and the Board of Knowledge tracks collected information. The Lancer Top List ranks successful freelancers, offering special benefits.

EVERYONE: Bounty hunting
This mechanic covers Bounty Hunting. You can accept bounties from a board at The BAR, which will give you a specific target. After accepting, it's your job to hunt down and eliminate them. A successful hunt will earn you a reward, but beware - the targets are known to be dangerous and resourceful.

This mechanic covers Artifact Triangulation. Players can use money or trade to hire the scientists, and then use a specific key card to operate their triangulation scanner in the field. This allows you to gain crucial data and narrow your search area for lost artifacts.

This mechanic covers Artifact Hunting. Not much is known about how to obtain artifacts, as they are exceedingly rare and difficult to acquire. Even less is known about how to maintain them, as they tend to become unstable and fall apart outside of The Zone and the borderlands.

LARP: Stashes and valuable loot
This mechanic covers Stashes and Valuable Loot. Stashes containing loot can be found throughout the Borderlands. Some stashes are hidden and require you to find clues or solve puzzles to access. The value of the loot varies and may include rare artifacts, gear, and supplies.

This mechanic covers Lore and Historical Information. Players can gain knowledge of The Zone's past and its secrets by finding old texts and data logs, talking to notable characters, and uncovering hidden information.

This mechanic covers Map Exploration and Points of Interest (POIs). Players can explore an expansive and dynamic map of the Borderlands, discovering Points of Interest such as abandoned buildings, military checkpoints, and dangerous anomaly fields. Discovering these locations and their unique environmental challenges is key to finding stashes, loot, and hidden lore.

MILSIM: Resources and resource extraction
This mechanic covers Resources and Resource Extraction. This covers how to find and transport valuable resources, which are scattered throughout the Borderlands. To get a reward, they need to successfully extract the resources from the Zone.

This mechanic covers Domination Points and Noonite Extraction. Players can find specialized pylons in the Borderlands to extract a valuable resource called Noonite. These locations are highly contested and must be controlled to gain a consistent influx of money for your faction.

This mechanic covers AT-Mines. Players can find and use anti-tank mines to set up strategic traps and deny access to key areas. The mines are effective against vehicles.
